What is the Random Card Picker?

The Random Card Picker is a new tool inside the Progress section of MagicBase. It generates random playing cards for you to practice with, no physical deck needed. Useful for force training, memory work, card changes or simply your daily warm up. And best of all, the feature is completely free, available to every MagicBase user tier, whether Free, Plus or Pro.

Three Modes for Different Training Goals

So the training fits your level and your goal, the Random Card Picker comes in three variations.

1. Simple Mode

Here you simply get a random card shown to you, complete and at a glance. Great when you need a card quickly for a trick or an exercise and don’t want to spend time searching.

2. Rank to Suit Mode

In this mode the rank of the card is shown first and the suit follows afterward. This lets you work specifically on your timing, for example with an April Fool force or similar techniques where the order of information matters.

3. Realistic Mode

Realistic Mode simulates how an actual spectator would describe a card. Not every spectator says „queen of hearts.“ Some say „the one with the little hearts“ or „the one with the edge,“ especially when they are not entirely sure about the suit. These exact colloquial descriptions are what Realistic Mode reproduces, including the correct grammatical articles in German. So you are not only training the card itself, but also your listening and interpretation of real spectator statements, a skill that matters more in close up magic than many realize.

The Timer: Autodraw for Hands Free Training

Another highlight is the built in timer with autodraw. Instead of requesting each new card manually, the Random Card Picker draws automatically at an interval you set yourself. This is especially useful when practicing card tricks where your hands are busy, such as named card tricks or fine card work, where there is no time to keep tapping on your phone in between.
