That’s why today’s update introduces Custom Tags.
Instead of being limited to predefined categories, you can now create your own tags and organize your repertoire in a way that fits your style of magic.

With Custom Tags, you can create labels for anything that matters to you.
For example:
- Rope Magic
- Rubik’s Cube Magic
- Prop Magic
- Coin Magic
- Mentalism

- Close-Up
- Stage
- Comedy
- Or anything else you can think of.
Even better, every trick can have multiple tags, making it much easier to find exactly what you’re looking for later.
A single routine might be tagged as Close-Up, Coin Magic, and Favorite, while another could be Stage, Comedy, and Opener.
Built for Every Style of Magician
One thing we’ve learned while building MagicBase is that no two magicians organize their repertoire in exactly the same way.
Rather than forcing everyone into a single system, we want MagicBase to adapt to you—not the other way around.
Whether you perform with cards, ropes, Rubik’s Cubes, everyday objects, or completely custom props, Custom Tags let you build a system that matches your workflow.
Just the Beginning
This is the first version of Custom Tags, and we already have plenty of ideas for expanding the feature.
Since our own background is primarily in card magic, we know there are many branches of magic with different organizational needs. We want to learn from the community and continue improving the tagging system based on real-world feedback from magicians who specialize in ropes, cubes, stage magic, mentalism, children’s entertainment, and many other areas.
Our goal isn’t to guess how every magician works—it’s to build a system that evolves alongside the community.
As MagicBase grows, so will Custom Tags.
